What data I collect and why
The enquiry form on this website collects your name, e-mail address, optionally your phone number, the selected language pair and type of service, the text of your message and any files you attach. I process these data solely to reply to your enquiry and to prepare a quote. The legal basis is the negotiation of a contract and the consent you give by ticking the box in the form.
Attaching a document is optional. If you do attach one, it is used only to prepare the quote. For the certified translation itself I will ask you for the document again, in the way we agree on.
When you order a certified translation, Act No. 354/2019 Coll. obliges me to enter the order in the Ministry of Justice’s electronic register of translation acts. The register requires the name (or company name), date of birth (or company ID) and address of the customer. This entry is a legal obligation and does not require your consent.
Retention
Data from an enquiry that does not lead to an order are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and are then deleted. Data connected with an order are kept for the periods required by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR) and by accounting and tax legislation.
Who receives the data
The form is transmitted through Resend (an e-mail delivery provider; data is processed in the EU region, Ireland) and delivered to my Gmail mailbox. The website is hosted by WEDOS Internet, a.s. (Czech Republic). I carry out every certified translation personally, without intermediaries. I do not pass your data to any other third party except where the law requires it (e.g. the Ministry of Justice register).
The video on the home page is loaded from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) only after you click it. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are loaded only after you consent in the cookie bar; you can withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have them corrected or erased, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object. You may withdraw your consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.cz). Requests can be sent to translate4u.cz@gmail.com.
Professional confidentiality
As a sworn court interpreter and translator I am bound by Act No. 354/2019 Coll. to keep confidential all facts I learn in connection with my interpreting and translation work. This duty continues after the work has ended and covers the content of every document you entrust to me.
